New Delhi: Valtteri Bottas, who will be racing for Williams next season, says his objective is to improve his driving in the coming year.
“It's difficult to set objectives before the season starts, so I'm just trying to make the most of this opportunity to prove the team has been right to promote me to a race seat,” he said. “I want to look back on 2013 and feel that I've improved as a driver and helped the team improve its performance on the track. As a team I think we should be aiming to score more points than this year and really get the most out of the car,” he was quoted as saying.
This will be Bottas’ debut as an official driver for the team. Although he had been in contract with the team as a test driver during the 2012 season, he was allowed to drive Senna’s car for fifteen practice sessions.
Williams F1 won only one GP this past season in Spain. This was the first victory for the team since 2004.
